SMACK More Cookies for Me!
Ok so I’ll share them with everyone else, but MyJenny says I will get an extra special treat this weekend when she goes to my store!
When they came home from work today, Momma and MyJenny were working on the boxes that let me blog and someone came to the door. MyCousinJoey and my sisters and me were all very good. When MyJenny said we had to go outside because our neighbor Julia was coming over (she’s Harley and Molly’s Mom), we went outside with no trouble.
When we came back in, MyJenny and Momma were very excited. Two nice men from the box in the living room (TV) came to tell them that Julia wanted to do something very nice for them. When I went outside, Harley and Molly told me through the fence that the nice men came to see them too, but the didn’t stay long at their house because Harley told them to come to mine.
Julia is a nice lady. I don’t know understand what she did, but Momma says I get more cookies this weekend. SMACK! When is Saturday?
Love and dog kisses to you!
Chicory
PS MyJenny has something to say too: Our neighbor Julia submitted our names for Pass 6 On through our local FOX affiliate, Fox6. (http://www.myfoxal.com/global/Category.asp?c=186711) because we helped her when she had need as so many have helped us in our times of need. We are so touched and humbled by her generous outpouring of thanks. We are very blessed to have such wonderful friends. Thank you Julia! We love you. ~Jenny
It’s Too Quiet
Hi Anipals!
Sorry I’ve been quiet for so long. There’s been so much to do. MyCousinJoey moved in with us on EATDAY (MyJenny says it’s called Thanksgiving… I don’t know about that, but I know I always get a special treat that day!) Anyway, since Pumpkin and Pokie were having a hard time getting along at our house and MyCousinJoey was getting picked on at his house, Pumpkin went to live with ThatDaniel and Becca and MyCousinJoey moved in with us. I miss Pumpkin, but now I get to play with MyCousinJoey all the time. SMACK!
Then at Christmas, MyJenny brought home a kitteh! She calls her Cecilia… hmm I’m not sure I like her yet. She’s just starting to come out from under the bed, but she won’t come out and play with us so I bark at her all the time. I know that will make her less afraid
We will have fun when she comes out to play with the rest of us.
Do you know what else happened at Christmas? MY SNOW CAME BACK! Last year when it melted, MyJenny said it would come back and she was right! I love snow almost as much as sunny Saturdays. Ok off to play with MyCousinJoey now.
#Dogsrule
Head’s up guys and gals! This is a good way to help dogs in shelters that are waiting for their furever home. MyJenny says:
This weekend only (through September 19, 2010), Pedigree will donate one 20 pound bag of dog food for every blog post about the Pedigree Adoption drive! All you have to do is include these bullet points in your blog post:
- Each year, more than 4 million dogs end up in shelters and breed rescue organizations. Pedigree created The PEDIGREE Adoption Drive to help shine a spotlight on the plight of these homeless dogs.
- This year the PEDIGREE Adoption Drive is raising awareness for homeless dogs by donating a bowl of food to shelter dogs for everyone who becomes a “Fan” or “Likes” the PEDIGREE Adoption Drive on Facebook. So far more than 1 million bowls have been donated.
- Special for BlogPaws West: For each blog that posts about the PEDIGREE Adoption Drive through September 19, PEDIGREE will donate a bag of its new Healthy Longevity Food for Dogs to shelters nationwide. It’s simple: Write a post, help a dog.
| Cosmo and I were among the 10 Pedigree bloggers who attended BlogPaws in Denver, CO last weekend. |
- Thursday, September 16 through Sunday, September 19, the Pedigree BlogPaws bloggers will host a Blog Hop to help raise awareness for the “Write a post, help a dog” effort.
Then, just add the link to your blog post (not the link to your blog, but the link to your post) to the Blog Hop at Pedigree BlogPaws bloggers.
Get Well Pokie
My sister, Pokie, had surgery yesterday to remove 8 cancerous tumors from her mammary glands. She is home and feeling ok now. MyJenny said she had to stay overnight with Dr. J and I really missed her a lot but now she is home and she really likes having the get well cards she received read to her.
Watch this video and see her blowing kisses.
Sunny Saturday
I like sunny Saturday afternoons!
This is a quote from Trixie Koontz:
“Grass. Lose job, wreck car, endure tornado… nothing matters if you have lawn or meadow. Lie in grass. Smell grass. Sneeze. Listen to breeze in grass. Sneeze. Sigh.”
Rainy Days and Mondays…
Good morning, World!
Last night the sky rumbled a lot and I got really scared. I don’t like rain, even when there’s no bowling. Mom and MyJenny say it’s just the angels bowling when the sky rumbles and when they get a strike, the sky lights up like someone is taking pictures. I don’t know about that.. it all just makes me shiver.
Lucky for me though Mom and MyJenny know how to make it all better. I put on my special jacket and MyJenny lets me get up in hermagicbed. Then, everything is ok. My jacket is called The Anxiety Wrap. I’m not a very big girl, so I wear an extra small, but they make all sizes. If you want, you can look at them in my store. There’s another kind of special jacket called ThunderShirt. I haven’t tried that one yet, but MyJenny says I will try it soon. I still don’t like rain storms all that much, but my jacket helps.
Today is a very sad day because it rained last night and because it’s Monday. I love weekends, but Mondays make me sad because Mom and MyJenny go back to work. I like it when everyone is together.
And even worse, this morning, Mom and MyJenny said I couldn’t have treats.. SMACK.. or food. They said Pokey has to go to the vet and since she can’t eat, we can’t eat until after she leaves. Sigh. I love all of my sisters, but I don’t see why I can’t eat just because she can’t. Maybe we could have Pup Corn. It’s not really a cookie. I’ll tell MyJenny that even Pokey can have it because it’s really light. That’s a good idea.. SMACK. Hold on. I’ll go ask her.
Sigh. She said “Not now. Maybe later.” Sigh.
I like to sing.. Do you like to sing? I’m afraid today will be a long, lonely day so I’m singing this song.
But MyJenny said everyone will come back later and there will be yellowbag treats!!
My First Real Blog Post
Hello, my name is Chicory and welcome to my spot on the World Wide Web. I’m going to call it ChicorySpot.
I live with Mom and MyJenny and my three sisters; Kanga, Pumpkin, and Pokie. Kanga and Pumpkin lived here a long time before I came and Pokie came to live with us just a few months ago. MyJenny said Pokie didn’t have a place to live because her daddy got sick and she couldn’t live with him anymore. I try to make her feel at home and share my toys with her. Sometimes, Becca and ThatDaniel – I love ThatDaniel – you know that big bright light in the sky at night? (MyJenny said it’s called “themoon”) The only reason it is there is because ThatDaniel put it there!- well anyway, Becca and ThatDaniel bring my cousins Sadie, Ellie, and Joey over to play. Sometimes they bring other temporary cousins. Becca and ThatDaniel let some dogs and cats stay with them until they find furrever homes. We have lots of fun playing and chasing each other around the house. Sometimes we get too loud and MyJenny makes us go outside, but it’s fun to run around outside too and if we get too hot, MyJenny always lets us in and then we get Mom’s Coldpudding (RECIPE FOR FROWZEN YOGURT TREATS) or yellowbagtreats(COOLJACS)…. *SMACK*.( I always “smack” my lips whenever I get a tasty treat – or even think about something I like. So I will let you know how good something is by the number of “SMACKS” it rates.)
Hello world!
I am a fun-loving little dog, but I prefer to be called a furry human. I love my family, especially my sisters, and am excited about sharing our adventures with you. Where does my name come from? My Mom says I’m dark like chicory coffee except for one tiny white spot on each side where the angels tickled me when I was born.
